Youth Pastor, and Discipleship Coordinator.

I am committed to sharing the gospel, making disciples who make disciples and training, equipping students with what it looks like to pursue a deeper relationship with Christ.

Birthdate: September 25, 1984
Married: August 7, 2010

Emily Christiansen
Bachelors in Education (K-6th)

Children: Karis born June 8, 2015

I became a Christian on July 7, 1991 and was baptized the same day. The summer after my sophomore year of high school, while at Silvercliff camp in Colorado, I accepted that God had called me into the ministry. For the next eight years, I was groomed, built up and equipped by God to serve him in youth ministry. God has called me into serving in ministry for, with, and to young people and their families. It is my passion to see students come to know Christ as Lord and Savior, train them to be His disciples and release them into ministry to change the world.

I grew up in a Christian home and was a part of a church family at Harvest Baptist Church for the majority of my childhood. When I entered 7th grade we moved to Glenview Baptist Church. It was at a youth camp that I accepted God’s calling on my life. Through that experience, I began to step into a leadership role in my local youth group under the guidance of Pastor Bill Bray. Upon Graduating high school I began to walk away from God. During this time God’s protection over my life was evident to everyone but me. When I met Emily she encouraged me to go back to school and pursue the call on my life. My wife and I married on August 7th, 2010.  I eventually enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I am always excited to find God’s plan for my life. I seek in my life to “be joyful always and pray continually” as Paul says in I Thessalonians 5:16-17.

My philosophy of youth ministry begins first with maintaining a constant relationship with God. Through this I will be able to develop leaders who are living examples of God’s Word and connect with students relationally. This will create a team that includes myself, the workers and finally the parents. I will support this team and aid them in understanding the spiritual and emotional needs of the youth. I will connect the students to parents as the primary spiritual discipler in their lives. This team will surround the entire ministry in prayer. The team will disciple and equip students to walk with Jesus and with each other. Through accountable small groups, we will prepare students to live a life for the glory of God, share the leadership of the youth ministry and to be contributing members of the church body for a lifetime.
